These are our shot lists and storyboards for the video. A lot of our shots are repeated and therefore the shot lists aren't as long, as the video seems.

Location Shots
These are some still photos to show the green room we will be using to film the entirety of our music video. We encountered a problem when we realised that the flooring in this room wasn't green but we overcame this by thinking we could place the boom box on a bright green chair that we can find in the college refectory :)

Influential music videos
We had some influences when we were creating our music video, we did some background research before we constructed our idea, we looked into how successful some styles of music video have been with their certain styles, we worked on this and adapted our idea.
Our First Influence.
Rockstar - By Nickel Back.

After watching this song we decided we really liked the idea of having multiple people with different styles and stereotypes in our video (Image's 3 and 4) , we expanded on this after realising that a lip sync to our song would probably be quite unsuccessful due to the pace and style of our song. We decided to adapt this and do it with dancing instead, creating the same fun vibe that the rockstar video created.
We also liked the idea of the recurring character speaking the voice part of the song, (Image 1) we thought this idea would also work with using our artist in our video, (also contributing to Goodwin's theory of the need to sell the artist) Rockstar play on this by having celebrities in the video such as rock star Gene Simmons, who has been a influence to Nickelback. (Image 2)
This Video also uses the use of visuals and lyrics throughout the song the actors / actresses do hand gestures such as touching their hair, and having props such as car keys when cars are mentioned. We also want to include this in our video using a phone for the 'Call Me Up' Lines and the phone call.

After watching this video we really liked the idea of the recurring boom box, (images 1 and 2) this idea helps to connect the song to a theme and suggest the idea of continuity, Also the way that the opening scene is the artist carrying on the boom box, we liked this idea also,
We also picked up on the way that this video uses the same style as Rockstar in the way that they use lots of different stereotypes and styles of people in their video, (Image 3) making the audience seem more vast and appealing to more than just one audience.
Also at the end of this video all the characters come together and do an ending dance, (Image 4) we really liked this idea too, we thought that we could incorporate this into ours and having a larger group of people dancing together at the end of the song as a kind of closure dance.

This music video is a third example of one that uses the same visuals and lyrics we would like to achieve, such as backpack's, again this video uses the boom box prop, to bring the song back to the genre of the song. This video also uses the group dancing at the end of it, we again liked this idea as it is one single dancer for the majority of the song.
Genre Characteristics Research
Electro (short for either electro-funk or electro-boogie) is a genre of electronic dance music directly influenced by the use of TR-808 drum machines, Moog keytar synthesizers and funk sampling. Records in the genre typically feature drum machines and heavy electronic sounding deprived of vocals in general, although if present, they are delivered in a deadpan manner, often through an electronic distortion such as vocoding.
Target Audience Research
We mainly aiming our music video to the younger generation. E.g. 15-25 year olds. We hope to reach out to them by our chosen costumes, using the popular fashion styles around at the moment. However, we are also using an 80's theme in the music video, which also relates to some older audiences.
The use of young people in our video will again reach out to the younger generation, and the upbeat tempo encourages he listeners to play them at parties.
Artist Research
Chromeo originate from Canada and came together in 2001, by 2002 they were already recording music. The music they produce belongs to the 'Electric funk' category. The debut album, She's In Control, released in 2004, defined Chromeo and started their music career.
However, there Debut Album was not a 'hit' and the band took a break. After three years, Chromeo began making music, and released a second album called, Fancy Footwork, which was positively reviewed.
Mise En Scene Research
Costume
For our music video we are hoping to have a mixture of styles, including preppy, 80's, scene and others. However, the one thing we want all the outfits and costumes to do is stand out. Hopefully most of the outfits will be brightly colored with a lot of accessories.
Props
We are planning to have a boom box in the corner of every image, although the back drop will be changing either colors or pictures. We thought the dancers could also use any props such as ipods, and headphones; all relating to music. We also need one of our dancers to bring a phone for the conversation in the middle of the song.
Lighting
We're using the green room to record our music video to enable us to change the back drop. This means most of the lighting will be natural. However, if we can we would like to use some lights which are provided in the green room to make the scene look a bit more 'disco'.
Location Report
We're hoping to film the entirety of our film in the green screen room at college, we believe this will be best for the idea we are going for, we want to be able to have the dancers dancing against different coloured backgrounds and vast locations, this can be achieved through the green screen room at college, some of the colour ideas would be Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Orange, this is to create a happy vibe.
We would have to be careful that none of our dancers wear any green clothing as this would disrupt the green screen illusion.
Our location is easy to access and the only problem we may encounter would be being able to have it on our first choice of day, but we'll book it in advance to avoid this.

Above are the lyrics to Call Me Up by Chromeo, The general jist of the song we get is that the artist is talking about how this girl can call him up no matter what time or emotion she is feeling she is always welcome to get in contact with him.
"These fourteen numbers never felt so right." we believe that this suggest the telephone number digits, describing how he feels speaking to anyone else could not feel as right as it does with this person.
"How do I explain this kind of feeling? I never got enough attention as a child." These lines make reference to his past, it could arguably suggest the reason why he loves hearing this girl's voice so much.
"And now I'm staring at the ceiling, With the phone in my hand, Hoping you'll make it ring" This is a line that the audience can instantly relate to, everyone has experienced the moment when you want someone to reply to a message or call you, the audience can relate to the artist making him seem more down to earth and similar to his audience.

Planning the Cast
At this time we have written a list of 15 - 20 dancers that would be up for featuring in our music video. We have a variety of people on the list we know can dance and be confident enough to be filmed alone and take it seriously so it will look professional. We also have people who will be able to dance and have fun with the song. Overall we are hoping that the energy of all the dancers combined will really be shown though the lens. The song is full of energy and we are hoping we can do it justice.

A very dance based track, including our earlier character 'Tik-Tok' an individual, electric / pop icon. Having a variety of people dancing on their own, changing person via camera movement e.g. camera is focused on one person, camera moves to floor, camera is lifted again and there is a new dancer.
We could use the idea of green screening to create abstract locations as well as just block colours (and using the plain green and plain white walls).
